Thanks to a bit of encouragement/push from :icontirius99: earlier, I decided to just suck up my insecurities and draw something.
I made up a new pose through playing with the mannequin tools in Clip Studio Paint, and went ahead and did the rough and secondary sketches. This is probably the most complex thing I have drawn entirely with my tablet, I'm starting to get the hang of it!

I've wanted to do a pose that was more dynamic and a bit more "Rikka" and I hope this one checks those boxes (though it's going to be a bit on the serious end of the Rikka spectrum)

Me: I'm gonna draw an awesome picture of Rikka Takanashi from Chunibyo  this weekend.

Inner me: No, you're going to spend a good chunk of your allotted art time messing around with the 3D posing and rulers features of clip studio paint. Then when you finally do start actually drawing, you're going to just try to draw that same front view of her head again because the pose you are wanting to draw needs a 3/4 head and how can you do that if you can't even draw the front view. Attempt to draw the front view, but really you're going to just draw and redraw the jawline because that's all that matters right? If you screw the jawline up, no one will even recognize the character. In fact, the jaw is so important and nuanced, better not risk sketching it out, just try carefully measured and positioned bezier curves for an hour.

Me (after over an hour of listening to inner me) : Ugh, I'm just going to sketch it out. *finishes sketch in 30 minutes *

Inner me: Wow are you getting worse?

So yeah, made another attempt at :

This was also my first attempt at sketching digitally in a long time. I'm not sure if it's actually better than the previous attempt, or just closer in different ways... I'm open to feedback, I'm going to make a finished drawing from the new sketch.

Painful timelapse full of self doubt and trial and error:

I tried something completely new to me with my most recent WIP deviations on the Succubus. I used Chronolapse to create some timelapse videos showing the work/process that I used. Zero editing or anything, though I'm sure I could figure out how to do voiceover, titles etc. But I'd rather do something more focused with that (tutorial or something?).

Presently, I'm just wanting to include the videos here on dA, but it sucks that you can't embed them in a deviation description. I've been adding links but I'm not sure how visible that is. I'm guessing that journals are probably the best way to go about it, but hopefully it won't be too annoying to get 2 notifications for a single drawing.

Anyways, if you've read this far, check out the videos, and if you feel inclined, give some feedback about what you like to see in drawing videos on youtube or if you even like those at all.
